How do I access and manage my MediaFire account on my iOS device?

Finding MediaFire in the App Store - iOS Devices

To access your files on your iOS devices, we have released an iOS application on the iTunes app store. To download the app, you must first have an iTunes account. Once you have created an Apple ID, log into the app store using this account.  Following are detailed instructions on adding the MediaFire application to your iOS device.

  2. From the app store, select the search option on the bottom of the screen, this will take you to a search page where you can search for an app.

  3. Once in the search window, type in the search term MediaFire.  This will bring up our application.

  4. Select Install.

  5. Your device will will prompt you for your Apple ID as well as the password. After you enter your information the download and install will start right away.

After the splash screen loads, you will see the login screen where you can login with the account you would like to manage.  Use the same account information that you use to log into our MediaFire website, including your email address and the password you created. If you are using MediaFire for the first time, you will need to sign up for an account at

Settings Menu

MediaFire for iOS has a settings screen which allows you to view profile information, send error reports, log out of MediaFire, upgrade your account, and other useful options.  To locate your settings screen, locate the small cog icon at the bottom of your screen.  Click on this settings icon to open your Settings menu.

Once selected, the settings screen will be displayed.

User Info

The first section in the settings menu displays your profile information.  The fields are Display Name, the Email account associated with MediaFire, and the amount of Storage Used.  From this screen you can also Upgrade Your Account.

Automatic Backup Selections

The next section of the settings menu allows you to disable/enable automatic Camera Backup, grants MediaFire access to perform Background Uploads, and let's you choose to disable/enable Backup over cellular data

When Camera Backup is enabled, any media (video and pictures) captured with your iOS device's camera will automatically be uploaded to your MediaFire account. With this setting disabled you will need to manually upload media.

Background Upload is a new feature which has been added so you can choose to let camera syncing continue while MediaFire is running in the background.  Left disabled, uploads can only occur while MediaFire is in the foreground (i.e. when you are viewing the MediaFire application).

To reduce carrier charges, you may choose to pause syncing of your camera while using cellular data.  When Backup over cellular data is disabled, camera syncing will not occur when you are using cellular data for your mobile networking.  Automatic backup will continue once WiFi is available and connected. Alternatively, when enabled syncing will take place while you are connected to both Wifi and cellular data.

Send Feedback

The next selection allows you to communicate with MediaFire.  The first option is to Send a bug report.  Choose this if you encounter an error on MediaFire for iOS and want to alert the MediaFire Technical Team.  Communicating errors will allow errors to further investigated and resolved on future releases.  The next selection is Rate this app.  Choose this option to go to the Apple Store to rate MediaFire for iOS.

The last section of the settings' screen allows you to Unlink this Device.  Choose this selection if you would like to log out of your current account.  The last data displays your MediaFire for iOS Version number.
