How do I upload a file to MediaFire?

Files of any type can be uploaded to MediaFire and stored in your account.  To upload a file to MediaFire, follow these steps:

1. Open the MediaFire Cloud.

2. Click on the blue Upload icon at the top of your screen, or press U on your keyboard, to open the upload dialogue.  (Additionally, you can drag and drop files into your internet browser or use MediaFire Desktop)

3. Once the upload button is pressed, MediaFire will ask if you want to upload a file from your computer or the web (in the case of pressing the U shortcut key on your keyboard, this question will be skipped).  If you would like to upload a file from your computer, select From computer or press U on your keyboard.  To upload a file from a website, choose From the web.

4. Upload from the web:  If From the web is chosen, a new window will appear where you can enter the URL of the file and give your file a name.  The file name you choose will be the name your file has in your MediaFire Account.  Once you’ve filled in your file information, press Upload File Via the Web.

5. Upload from your computer:  If you choose to upload the file from your computer, a new box will appear.  Click the plus sign from either the middle of the window or the bottom left hand corner of your window to browse for your file location.  Alternatively, you may also drag and drop your file into this window.  (Drag and Drop has limitations.  Visit knowledgebase article How do I upload files using the drag and drop feature to better understand this feature)

Once you’ve chosen the file, or files, you would like to upload, click on Begin Upload.  MediaFire will begin uploading your file(s) and a progress bar will be displayed in the bottom of the window.
